Uses Culms are used to make baskets.

Observations Open tufted bamboo. Culm erect first, then leaning on trees, with long drooping tip, 15-20 m long, diameter 1.5-2.5 cm, wall relatively thick; internodes 80-100 cm long, with white appressed hairs when young; nodes swollen. Culm sheath covered with white to light brown hairs on the back; blade broadly lanceolate, erect first, then deflexed; auricles small with long bristles. Inflorescence terminating a leafy branch; pseudospikelets 2.5 cm long in groups, of 2-3.
